Some nights ago I went to church; my bishop was speaking on grace. You know I’ve heard many teachings about the grace of God before but I never really received it. My spirit wasn’t ready back then to process this all important and necessary information. You see in a sense mankind betrayed God. Adam and Eve was given everything they needed, life was good in the garden. They messed up by being disobedient, that was not all though, Genesis 3:8-10 tells us “Where are you?” So he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” Adam and Eve were terrified because they knew exactly what they had done; their eyes had been opened to their sin. They did not repent but instead they hid and that is what brought the wrath of God down on mankind.
You see God grace is always present, we know when we mess up, we know when we do wrong but we hide it. Sweep it under the rug and go on as if nothing has happened. Even in the present state of affairs on the earth we pretend that nothing is wrong. God is saying my grace is sufficient mankind, come back to me and I will heal and forgive your land. We are saying, ‘no let me try this, let me do that, maybe this solution will work this time.’ While the noose is ever tightening about our necks we dilly dally and play with God. I am fascinated by Adam and Eve lives, and the choices they made. I do believe God was really angry with Adam, why did they not ask for forgiveness? I said in a previous piece that Adam lived to be over 900 years old, nowhere do we have mention of him accomplishing anything other than being a dad. Wow..! My opinion again but I do believe God felt terribly hurt and saddened by their behavior. You and I are no different, we treat God as if he is the creation and we are in control. We try to reverse the roles, we need him but we pretend that we don’t. When mankind rejects God confusion reigns, how did we arrive at the present level of chaos and confusion we see in every nation and community on the earth today? I digress back to grace.
This walk with God has levels, my goodness. I think sometimes many ministers and teachers of the gospel make the erroneous assumption that everyone is at the same level of maturity. Some important elements of the Christian faith have to be broken down to the bare basics so everyone can understand more fully. In the back of my mind I had acknowledged this grace aspect but it wasn’t immediately real to me. God had to prove it to me, my my…! Since last night the Holy Spirit has been dealing with me on this topic. I finally get what this grace is supposed to mean. I have had more than my share of life troubles which have forced me to go looking for solutions in diverse places (not what you thinking). I have prayed every prayer known to man and still I was not seeing some of my burdens lifted. Much despair, much pain, much sorrow later I finally get it now. Living holy, being prayerful, going to church, worshiping, giving of tithes and offering are all necessary prerequisites to being a Christian. After all that is what God admonishes us to do in our walk with him? There is a but though, it’s by Gods grace and mercy alone some things will change in our lives.
Some of us lack a proper understanding of the grace impartation. Your efforts and your work are not qualifiers to grace; God gives the grace not mankind. Grace essentially means to acquire something that you do not deserve; it is also called by another name unmerited favor. God will pardon and have mercy on us if we cry out to him. Sometimes he will interceded and save us but he will always require us to do something in response ourselves. We can blame Adam and Eve all we want, but before we do we must understand some qualities about God. He knew that Adam and Eve would sin and he allowed it. Have you ever thought why he did that? Many times we don’t get that God is a paradox. He requires all of us to seek him for ourselves. There are some things we will never understand about him, get used to that aspect about him folks he is sovereign not your little boy or girl or woman. God is merciful to us every day. He does not need us you know he can get anything in creation to worship and obey him. “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out” Luke 19:40.
Mercy means that we do not get the punishment that we deserve. God is abundant in compassion, grace mercy and forbearance. God’s greatest act of grace is sending Jesus down to die to save man from his sinful ways. Salvation is by faith, you must believe on Jesus to be saved. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” John 3:36.Salvation is God’s gift to mankind, once received God himself will start the process of renewing you and put you on the pathway to eternal life. It’s all God’s will. Recently, as many of you know, I lost my sister. I prayed for her so much before she passed, and in the end I said God, why? The Bible says “naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” Job 1”21. We don’t always want to accept God’s will, for reasons known only to him he allows something’s we find abhorrent to happen to us.
I’m not trying to use my faith to justify my sisters passing or any aspect of my life. The things I’m being led to take on I don’t necessarily run to them. I’m driven to do this work because it’s being deposited in my spirit. I always want to be truthful with people, when I don’t comply with God’s wishes I always end up in trouble. Disobedience has brought many troubles my way, so I have decided to do his work whether I like it or not I submit. I live what I teach. What I want the reader to take away is this? If you do all that God asks and you become frustrated because you don’t see the results of your effort.
Remember this scripture “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you” 1 Peter 5:10. God is faithful but we must share in the sufferings of Christ “For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children. And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ) if indeed we suffer with him so we may also be glorified with him” Romans 8:15-22.keep going along the path God has chosen for you. He will deliver you someday or maybe he won’t it’s his will to do so.This is very hard for many to grasp about the God we are being taught about. Life is not easy for no one, but some go through more trials, many times because of spiritual wickedness in high places, but God promises “that no good thing will he with hold from those that walk uprightly” Psalm 84:11.
This is a very serious hour for mankind get to know the God of grace and mercy.

Scriptures on Grace:
Different applications of the grace impartation
2 Corinthians 12:8-9 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Acts 4:33 And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people.
Acts 11:22-24 The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.
Acts 14:1-3 Now at Iconium they entered together into the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who bore witness to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
John 1:15-17 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ
Of course there are other scriptures on grace. Be blessed today!
