English: Wild Malus sieversii apple

Her painted smile leaks down into her neck

Running in lines down to her heaving bosom

Part laugh, but mostly wry self deprecating humor

It’s not everyday that she pauses to reflect, but when she does

She remembers being willing

Full of curiosity and joie de vivre

Now all the faces morph into sameness

Before they were special, when she could call them by name

Johnny, Billy, Reggie and Mackey.

There was a time when expectations ran high and she’d dreamed of the culmination of her business.

She didn’t mourn her squandered youth!

Why bother?

Her mother did up and leave her to fend for herself

On the cusp of womanhood, she had been shopped around.

Promising herself five years, the plan was to relocate somewhere afterwards

Far away from, the sanctimonious drivel of familiar creatures

Yearning had settled in her heart these last year’s though

For Johnny and innocence.

She regretted eating Eve’s poison.

Virgin Islands School Children

“Your children are the greatest gift God will give to you, and their souls the heaviest responsibility He will place in your hands. Take time with them, teach them to have faith in God. Be a person in whom they can have faith. When you are old, nothing else you’ve done will have mattered as much.” ― Lisa Wingate.

“As I interact with my children and other kids, I’m sometimes awestruck by these  precious and unique personalities.” – by Joszann St. John

Hi there,

Hope everyone is doing great. The weather is doing its job,It’s snowing outside and I’m happy and grateful to be warm inside.I’m not angry with mother nature at all, the snow is needed.

Snow Cat

Listening to one of my favorite artists aww…such bliss! So I’ve prayed and prayed some more, done lots of work on myself to get to this point in my life.Truthfully there was a time when I didn’t think I would make it.The last years have been extremely tough on me and my kids. I’ve handled so many insults as I developed and fought for this career.Everyone has their own journey but my message to young women is to establish yourself, get your dreams and ambitions underway first before you embark on mother hood and marriage. If you don’t know who you are? You have no reason being in a committed relationship.I tried compromising,I tried many things but that never worked for my marriage.I had to start all over rafter everything I had worked for imploded, not fun but by the grace of God he sustained me.

I was in a store some weeks ago and Beyoncé’s music was  blasting through the speakers.I tell you this in all seriousness,I heard this one line she was singing about being here and making an impression. It spoke to my heart in such a way that I knew I was meant to hear it.You are here too, no reason to play small.Seize the moment there will be no none else like you ever again, go for it.I speak for myself too.I came from a small village in the Caribbean, some things conspired to bring me thus so far.Namely tenacity, drive, obedience, family and timely help from certain individuals. The truth of the matter is that without God’s intervention none of this  would be possible. We can only do so much on our own.I give God the glory everyday for what he’s doing in my life!

Love Love Love

When I was younger I looked for love , what I found was not long lasting.I embarked on a campaign these past years to love myself .I believe love will find me this time,I don’t need to chase after it.I believe when we are ready good things will begin to happen.I’m not saying to be passive and wait, there is work to do always but when you’re ready what ever you’ve been earnestly working towards will find you. I honestly believe that,I’m not trying to be anyone else I have a platform and I’m just going to flow. The world is crying out for real men and women to stand up and be brave. There are too many empty hurting souls littering the landscape of existence. Can’t you tell? I’m not a Wounded Bird No More!

So be you always,it will bring so much rewards into your life!

I alluded to the issue of soul ties earlier this week when I posted in the article “Sexuality, a blessing or curse.”  The Urban dictionary defines ‘soul ties as a spiritual or emotional connection you have to someone after being intimate with them, usually engaging in sexual intercourse. To the point that when you want to be rid of them from your mind and your life, even when you are far away from them and out of their presence you still feel as if they are a part of you… Causing you to feel un-whole…’. Soul tie is a God idea, when carried out per his instructions it leads to mutually beneficial relationships. It was intended to bring blessing and joy into our lives. Every person is a living soul “and the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul “Genesis 2:7.

Circular knitting on a circular needle

God made Eve to be a companion to her husband, in God’s kingdom two is better than one. In our own relationships I’m sure we are all grateful for our spouses and children etc, I’m lumping here all human relationships .They help to bring meaning, provide comfort and sustain us as we journey through life. We have soul- ties with all these individuals, but like everything else God has made beautiful the interloper comes and destroys or changes things around. Its Satan counterfeit ties that are running amok and trying to destroy all that is beautiful in the world, Satan cannot succeed if we don’t corporate with him. Mankind has to stop seeing each other as the enemy and unite to expose the real enemy.

If you read the Bible you won’t find the term soul tie but instead you’ll come across choices as knit together, one with another, one flesh, and members of one another and so on. Essentially they all mean the same thing soul tie.The Hebrew word for “knitted”: means “to weave.” Other times, the word is translated “to cover, screen, or protect.” Knitting also means companion. As I said previously two are better than one, God in his wisdom instituted the concept of two becoming one. Joining together has certain privileges and benefits a union is a strong bond; the Bible enforces this principle throughout the scriptures. Deuteronomy 32:30 “one have chased a thousand, and two have put ten thousand to flight.

Remember we are all living souls so all our relationships involve some association of the soul. I’m writing on spiritual matters and we are getting to the bit on sexual soul ties but I would be remiss if I don’t shed light on the other soul tie connections. The soul is from God, so it is a conduit or pathway to spiritual things. We know that there is the negative or positive spiritual(or supernatural. When we are living according to God’s divine agenda and obedient to his word it’s more difficult for the enemy to enter. The Christian is not exempt from demonic manipulation unless a person adheres to Godly instruction he is just as open to attack as the ungodly. One’s will, mental, spiritual and emotional capacity is tied into our soul. We are made in the image and likeness of God and were created to interact with our creator and the rest of his subjects.

Examples of Soul connections or ties:

As a group of people

Judges 20:11 “So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city knit together as one man” (having one common purpose).

Romans 12:5 “For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another” ( the body of Christ, one people)

Through friendships

1st Samuel 18:1 “And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.”

Brothers and sisters within the Body –

Colossians.2:2 “That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love.”

A man and his wife

Genesis 4:1 “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived” (One of the most binding ties, its core is spiritual in nature but many enter into this relationship unawares of its significance).

Parent and children ties-

Genesis 37:34 “Then Jacob tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and mourned for his son many days.  All his sons and daughters came to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. “No,” he said, “I will continue to mourn until I join my son in the grave.” So his father wept for him.

(Parents are the first individuals that nurture and love children. Our formative years are spent in the care of these people who love and teach us the basics and foundational requirements for living. Everything else we learn in life is an additional layer. Loss and death involves more than grief, it is the actual severing of a soul tie hence its painful nature. Divorce also presents with the same implications because the souls are so intertwined with each other damage is done to the lives when they break apart).

Bonding is happening at many levels, these are just a few, and many types exist in other social contexts and institutions. Soul ties can be polluted and become toxic; if all was well we’d all be free of problems. There are many examples of destructive soul ties and many Biblical examples proving this issue has been prevalent with mankind for generations. They persist largely because of ignorance, our careless and selfish natures and primarily because of our lose lifestyles. Many people are in bondage today and it’s by prayer and sometimes fasting God can and will intervene to break the ungodly soul ties. This is too wide a topic to get into all at once so I’m focusing on the sexual aspect of the ties.

Caribbean, the Caribbean Sea, more than 7,000 ...

You know in the Caribbean we say “old fire stick easy to catch.” What it means is that previous lovers make up back after some time apart from each other. Sometimes whole families are caught up in the tangled mess as the soul ties are so strong. It literally forces the couple involved to leave their inhibitions behind and their morals to fly out the window. Their sense of right and wrong is severely impacted, and many wonder how they could be so callous. Considering they have children and separate lives, but unbeknownst to onlookers these men and women are tied together or bound in the spiritual realm. It’s an unseen bond but its binding nevertheless. How did this occur? The moment a man enters into a woman’s body he is connected to her on many levels. He has entered into her spirit and she, his because their sexual organs are gateways, to their spirit man. I’m here to debunk the theory today that ‘old fire stick catching easy.’ What’s catching old affairs and bringing them back together is the old soul tie that has not been dealt with and broken off.

peppercorns 2Black pepper is one of the more common spices in the world today. It is a basic ingredient in most meat and savory dishes around the globe. The fruit grows on a dark green climbing vine. Its’ white flowers form spikes that develop into small, green berries. The fruits or peppercorns as they are called turn red as they ripen. Peppers are some of the oldest spices in the world, originating in India at least 4000 years ago. In Sanskrit, India’s oldest language the spice was referred to as pippeli. By the time Latin was developed the word was translated to piper, eventually becoming Pepper in the English language.

As people traveled small batches of pepper trickled into the Mediterranean area. Initially brought over by the Arabs who bought spices from trade caravans they soon ended up in Europe. As a unique trait pepper has an unmistakably strong smell. Europeans welcomed its advent, by then it was the most expensive spice ever sold in the world .By 400 B.C. ancient Rome was sold out on pepper. The spice was employed both as medicine and as a flavoring in food. Its lucrative nature prompted the Roman Emperor Domitian to build a spice market in the Roman Forum around A.D. 90. He named the primary road leading into the market Via Piperatica or Pepper Way.

The world’s largest importer of pepper is the United States. Annual figures for the worlds pepper market is about 500 million dollars. Peppers are used in many dishes including stews, soups pickles and marinades, you name it the list is exhaustive. People use it to sprinkle and flavor their foods. A meat lover especially of the juicy steak knows that the black peppercorn enhances their food. Pepper came to the Caribbean via the slave trade, eventually becoming a small cash crop on certain islands.
