Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Just a quick commentary. You know for years we, meaning believers and those proponents that promote the gospel.Have been trying to convince others that God is real. There have been some converts over the years, praise the Lord for this.I was reading and really focusing on Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God really wants us to believe who he is first. He requires us to do something first, to receive from him.Believing is activating our faith in who God is.After we do this, the scripture tells us that God will reward those that diligently seek him.Believing is getting our foot in the door so to speak.God always rewards obedience, as we have seen throughout the scriptures. This scripture verse is loaded. On first observation it seems so simple, but in fact its the basis and the starting place of our journey into discovering who God really is.If you don’t believe, you’ll never grow in the knowledge of God.So As we try to teach others about God we must try to understand and speak to their belief system. Sometimes their beliefs are founded on erroneous information.Once such individuals get the correct information you can see the transformation come over them. But there exists a certain element of society that will not believe, no matter what you tell them or how it is presented.I think by then, its become more than the Doubting Thomas syndrome for these folks.Maybe its an intellectual mindset, or it could be religion and the list goes on.I’m not trying to be dismissive at all,we all have issues that we think that are insurmountable.Every human being has been given the unique ability to believe. Wow… isn’t that amazing in itself, you get to choose what you want to believe always.Blessings!

Nature

English: Portrait of William Wordsworth by Wil...

English: Portrait of William Wordsworth

“Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher” by William Wordsworth.

Nature’s heart is beautiful, see how she unfolds at the gentle bidding  of the sun.

She is compassionate too, and even full of fun.

She calls to you today to be  in agreement

For she waits patiently still, because you’re needed in the final act of denouement.

English: Cotton candy Ελληνικά: Μαλλί της γριάς

Homeless buildings cold and vacant dot the landscape of cityscapes

Competing for space/crowded out by the cotton candy existence of newer urban dwellings

Entombed history cries out to be delivered from the confines of yesteryear

Enjoyed and forgotten/ designs and structures of another era

Previous denizens have moved on/ some to other countries and many/ to other realms.

Cranes and demolition equipment will come to history’s rescue.

Raping and pillaging her stores.

She won’t be unearthed gently/ by loving gentle archeological arms

Instead It will be the sharp metal marauding teeth/ of violence tearing and gutting her insides

Laying her to rubble and waste/forgotten now/ flattened becoming a plain

DSCF5346

Making way for the recently more expensive monstrosities

“Ahh…” sweet revenge in maybe 50 60 70 or 150 years

Alas the same/ the same.

Afghanistan rubble

Homes that stood previously

Now flattened debris piled into rubble

Underneath, buried family treasures, history and moments

Little tokens of lives lived

Collecting upon year by year tediously

Creating some semblance of order

They came in hissing last night and the evening before

No time to prepare/to run anywhere

Afterwards the remnant emerges

Soul weary burdened comfortless pilgrims

Of worlds constant conflicts

Rebuilding time and time again

Futile and frustrating

To life, to live, we continue always.

The old crone is bent double

As she hobbles down the street on her

Walking stick – knocking… knock

She is an object of ridicule, jeers and cruel taunts

Children and adults laugh and torment her

On occasion an egg or two has been thrown her way

Witch they say, see her humpback.

Hee/Hee!

The old woman stops to catch her breath

While the wind whips around her ankles

And tests the mettle of her brown dress

The race of life is not for the swift she says

Endurance counts in the running of the thing

Experience has taught her through

Myriad relationships and testing’s

To hold fast in the swirling mercurial currents of life

She is the moderate voice of reason and wisdom denied

Because her garments don’t adhere to current standards

Unrecognized, unheard and unseen by the pundits/

The know it alls and the youthful tyranny.

Mankind’s fall meant he lost his connection to his creator. More importantly though we lost our identity and ever since we have been on a quest to find out who we really are? Along the way we have made some pit stops into rocky (barren, unfruitful) terrain. If we accept evolution, then we might as well throw out the teachings of the Bible. Evolution is far removed from the principles and ideas laid out in the Bible, in fact they are diametrically opposed to one another. A basic definition of evolution is the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms or the gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form. If we can examine some of the more prevalent ideas of the theory we can come to our own conclusions.

Evolution in essence studies the science of change. Its premise is that all things evolve, that change is pervasive in the universe. Evolution is a theory, it hasn’t fully addressed concretely the evidence it presents. New studies and ideas are constantly cropping up in scientific literature. “Most scientists who study the structures and evolution of the universe agree that the Genesis account of creation in imagining an initial void, may be uncannily close to the truth” (Time, December 1976).The Bible written thousands of years ago unequivocally states that every animal brings forth after its own kind, evolution basics say the opposite. Man is not just another type of animal the Bible teaches that mans divine mandate is to “be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:28).Evolution theory occupies a wide field of scientific research and within its community there are differing views. “Mosts scientist are unable to arrive at a specific definition of biological evolution. “Biological evolution is… change in the properties of populations of organisms (you and me) that [happen during] the lifetime of a single individual. The changes in populations that are considered evolutionary are those that are inheritable via the genetic material from one generation to the next” ( Douglas J. Futuyma in Evolutionary Biology, Sinauer Associates 1986).

When biologists determine evolution has occurred they are referring to change in the gene pool (change in the genes of a population). Many of us have thought that the change would be more basic, something that could be measured in our individual bodies in our lifetime. It’s much more subtle though according to evolutionary progenitors. While some may argue that the Biblical account of creation presents some unique challenges. We can agree that the issue of mans origin cannot be definitely concluded from just observation alone. Everything we know up to this point must be put together if we are looking too get the big picture. Ultimately our dilemma will only be solved if we look to a source higher than ourselves. To do that another facet of our makeup must be activated and that is our belief system.
