A beautiful woman in the rain
Her face radiant after the pain
The water sluices of skin smooth like satin
She kicks up her ankles as she spins

And she dances

The past is gone and she dances to a new beat
Not just in her head and heart
But a rhythm in fleet feet
She moves effortlessly floating across the street
Her smile blinding, radiant, suddenly shy and then discreet

And she dances

A dance as old as time
Her body speaks in sublime rhymes
Almond shaped eyes their intensity riveting
Long limbed and commanding attention as she does a pirouette
The passage of girl to woman complete

And she dances…
