I wanted to look at the words dominion. What is dominion?

Dominion: Sovereignty; control: “man’s attempt to establish dominion over nature.” The territory of a sovereign or government:

Synonyms:

domination – rule – power – reign – authority – control

Dominion was mans first assignment in the earth realm, ‘Rediscovering the kingdom’ By Miles Munroe. I’m primarily concerned with mans original rulership. Strip away everything you know about the modern trappings of society. You are left with just man, man with nothing, man needing God to protect him from the elements. Initially all man had was his spirit, soul, mind and body. In death, we see mankind stripped of everything including the very breath he enjoyed previously. I want you to get the picture of man, dependent on the universe for his very existence. How you say, does that have anything to do with ruler ship? Man is nothing; we have nothing, unless it is given to us by God. You see this naked, defenseless and hopeless, being called man, could not survive with the help of God. The psalmist says “what is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?” – Psalm 8:4. If there are no guns, or weaponry, many of the wars would not be fought. If there was no witchcraft, many people would not have amassed what they have, or be able to destroy others. When we put on the veneer of civilization, we become powerful and think we can do many wicked things against each other. According to my bishop, ‘God is just playing along, ‘he will come so suddenly most people will not even realize what hit them. How many heinous crimes against humanity have been committed using the help of demons?

Mans rulership:

  • God gave man dominion over earth.
  • God gave man dominion over creation and earth,
  • Man was never given dominion over heaven (I shared with you how God came down, when man attempted to build a tower to the heavens at Babel)
  • God never gave man religion, but a relationship.
  • God never promised man heaven, but earth.
  • Man was never given dominion over other men

Man was sent to co partner with God in the earth realm, as God’s representative. God created heaven and earth. He also created spirit beings and fleshy beings (you and me); he decided that we should inhabit different realms. Let’s look at a portion of Psalm 148 “Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created. Angels are created beings; man is made in the image and likeness of God. If we search the meaning of made and created, you will find out that they have different meanings. I’m not going into the root word or Hebrew word, this will suffice, one is an action word and the other is an adjective, so there is some distinction.

Made: (adjective):

Made or formed in a particular place or by a particular process: “a handmade dress”.
Synonyms:

done – made-up

Create: (verb)

Bring (something) into existence: “he created a lake”; Cause (something) to happen as a result of     one’s actions:
 Synonyms:

make – produce – originate – generate – form – cause
God never gave any man control over any other. Sadly, this is the state of many individuals in the world today. As people are in bondage to this or that, half of the time, they had help in getting themselves in the fix they are in. It’s nothing new, since the beginning of mankind, we have disobeyed God laws, all kind of perversion and chaos has erupted. Many people now believe that is the way things ought to be and that God is dead. Well the devil is a liar. God is not dead and he is intervening in the affairs of man.

Much of the atrocities we are seeing today are being performed by wicked men and women under demonic influence. They believe they can do just about anything they please, including taking lives at will. God is going to deal with them now, and on judgment day. They want to be spiritual movers and shakers without submitting to the power of God. God always chooses who he wants to do his bidding. Adam was an ambassador sent by heaven, but he messed up as many others after him. God sent Jesus to deliver mankind and to restore to us what Adam and eve lost through their carelessness. Jesus preached the message, that the kingdom of heaven is at hand, but most folks don’t understand what he was talking about, even two thousand and more years later. In Europe most people understand the workings of the kingdom system, because they have been a part of that system that gave rise to sovereignty. God instituted the kingdom idea, even though man has taken it and perverted that too. I want to remind us once again of Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

I can’t see, where it says we are to have dominion over each other, maybe I’m reading the scripture, incorrectly. So to those who are doing evil and think God is not seeing you, wake up, he is coming to you personally. Telling me you sending demons to destroy and terrorize people. You stealing and killing, you will answer, every last one of you, don’t worry your day is arriving.
”He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?” Psalm 94:9

Money cash

Words like power, money and control are often bandied about quite casually. If we study the nature of man, we will come to an understanding of how these terms impact every aspect of human life. Man is a consumer; he will always require something as he goes about daily life. He has to find a way to accomplish his desires, and fulfill his needs. The basic need for clothing, food and shelter, compels certain decision making processes. Ultimately we need money, if we are to have even the basics things in life. Money can be a force for good or evil, its dual nature has influenced many people in various ways. One of the lessons the Bible teaches is that “as it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one” Romans 3:10. Without the spirit of God in dwelling us it is impossible to live a life that is humanistic and selfless. So the opposite of that, is to try and influence or exert control over others to get our way.

Power is the ultimate tool in the hands of man; there are two powers at work in the earth realm. One is satanic, in the form of the powers of darkness. The other is a force for good, God’s way, the truth and light. Unfortunately, Adam’s and Eve decision in the Garden of Eden placed every human being into the hands of Satan. The only way we can be free of Satan is to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Power can be abused, evil men and women have come up with ways to exert control over others. Satan is the mastermind behind every wicked technology, what he has done is to teach his agents how to rig the world system that is under his directives. The world system of trade and economy represents the Babylonian system of old. It’s the system that gave rise to most of the models we follow today in business etc. Babylon is about greed, control, selfishness, hoarding and amassing to gain leverage and power over others. I’m not attacking the wealthy, all I’m doing is teaching about the systems of the world. God will give me and every other believer what is his to give.God’s system is vastly different from the world system.

Ultimately everything in heaven and earth belongs to God. In the early church, the people came together, as a community of and divided up their wealth so everyone could benefit .The Bible states in Psalm 24:1  The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.. I have taught that the Bible is prophetic; God has divine timing for everything. Nothing surprises him, he has allowed things to come about to serve his own purposes. Every system that has ever been introduced to the world has faltered at some point and died, we can go back through history and study, the rise and fall of many empires and dynasties great examples are the Greek and Roman empires. The world economy is in shambles, people are crying out under the load of debt and poverty, it’s everywhere, and even believers are affected. I spoke to an individual yesterday; he said to me “it’s time the government did something about this.” I said to him, if they could they would. The Bible has said many things concerning money, the book of Ecclesiastes states that “A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things”. From this scripture, the distinction is made, that money, is quite important.

Created to destroy God’s enemies, Samson was born to fulfill a specific assignment on earth. His life was fraught with many battles, some which he brought on himself. The name Samson in Hebrew means “distinguished”, “the distinguished one” and “man of the sun.” Samson was born in the period when God was punishing the Israelites. God allowed Israel’s enemies namely the Philistines to wage war against them because they were disobedient. In Judges 13 we are told that Sampson’s mother was barren and could not conceive, God granted her prayer for a child. Samson’s coming was heralded by an angel of God. There were certain stipulations concerning the child’s coming into the world. He was to be a nazarite, which is a person consecrated to God for a specific purpose. The call on Sampson’s life was so great, that God in his wisdom stipulated that he lived and observed certain rules. The angel told Samson’s mother “now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.”

As we see throughout scriptures, whenever, Israel disobeys God, he gives them over to their enemies in judgment for their sin. As the people cry out to him, he sends or raises up someone to bring deliverance. Israel relationship with God is an interesting one; you would think with all their struggles they would have learnt their lesson. Mans nature is fickle, Israel’s behavior illustrates this aspect of our makeup, we tend to forget all too quickly the goodness of God. God relationship with Israel follows a set pattern; the people   worship foreign Gods and false idols which anger God: Yahweh in Hebrew.

The Pattern:

  1. 1.    Israel “does evil in the eyes of Yahweh”,
  2. 2.    the people are given into the hands of their enemies and cry out to Yahweh,
  3. 3.    Yahweh raises up a leader,
  4. 4.    the “spirit of Yahweh” comes upon the leader,
  5. 5.    the leader manages to defeat the enemy, and
  6. 6.    Peace is regained.

Once peace was regained, for a time Israel does right and receives God’s blessings, only to relapse into evil behavior, repeating the pattern set forth above. God is forgiving and compassionate, he forgives countless times, but he also chastens those he loves. Samson was one of the last judges of Israel, judging from about 1095-1075 B.C.

Who were the Judges: They were divinely inspired leaders whose direct knowledge of God allows them to act as leaders, prophets and messengers for Israel. They would be the liaisons between the people and all opposing powers during periods of oppression by foreign rulers. This cycle happens about seven times between the conquests of Joshua until the time of Samuel. Samson lived towards the end of this 350 year period and is the last judge mentioned in the book of Judges. There were twelve judges in total, representing the twelve tribes of Israel. Some had major roles and offices, in the Book of Judges they were divided into two groups, the major and minor judges.

Quite a length of time and history involved, many generations of Israelites carried on in the same pattern. Mankind, to a large degree has behaved in predictable fashions for ages, it doesn’t matter how many times we teach, some people still disbelieve and some will continue to do evil. God gave Samson special ability to accomplish his mandate; he was the strongest man that ever lived. His supernatural strength was given for a reason. It was to be used to enable him to fight for his people, to protect them from attacks, to establish his people and bring them to God, through his example of servitude. Samson’s fight with the Philistines was largely personal and not out of concern for his people. God’s most important asset after his word is people. God acknowledges those who acknowledge him. I say this because the Philistines had their own Gods, so God left them to their own devices. We must remember too, that the Bible teaches that those who hate God’s chosen are his enemies and he will fight against such people.

When the angel came he stated that “the child was not to drink wine, cut his hair or touch a dead body” (13:3). Samson’s strength was in his covenant with God, what the angel delivered was indeed a covenant relationship, which would only be successful if Samson kept the agreement. Samson would eventually lead a life of excess, thereby wasting his talents and fulfilling his own lusts. Many times in life, we make decisions that change the trajectory of our destiny. Samson adamant decision to marry a Philistine girl, against the wishes of his parents would impact his life forever. When his young wife was killed, it pitted Samson against the Philistines in a personal vendetta. Samson priories became skewed from that moment on, and his focus was broken. He began frequenting prostitutes, a man chosen and given so many talents, leadership and divinely appointed lost his way. The enemy of mankind never rests; behind the scenes he was destroying a life that was full of promise. Maybe Samson wanted to bury his sorrows, maybe he felt unworthy after the death of his wife. Why did he not remarry? Why did he not repent? Did he ask God to heal his broken heart? Valid questions that the Bible does not answer for us, Samson was low in spirits to sort the company of prostitutes.

Delilah: is a Philistine harlot, and her mission was to trick and capture Samson for the Philistines. Her only loyalty was to the coin and the Philistines her own people. Delilah was a seducer, a trickster and someone who was involved in the dark arts. She bewitched Samson, so that he made stupid mistakes. We must remember that Samson was very strong, ‘he wrestled and killed a lion’ Judges 14:5–6, when the Philistines came upon him, they would come, as an army. This happened about three or four times with Delilah present after she had sold him out. So either Samson was stupid, arrogant, confident in his ability to escape, or he was under some sort of bewitchment. He eventually, told her his secret, which she promptly used against him.

Summary:
God is faithful to the end, although Samson failed miserably, God redeemed in the end. He even mentions him, in Hebrews11:32 “And what shall I more say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets.”

Samson was an obstinate and strong willed man, he was not humble and extreme hubris dogged his footsteps. He strayed from God; Samson did not walk close to God for most of his life. It was towards the end, when he lost everything including his eyesight that he restored his covenant with God. This story is an example of how Satan can interrupt and destroy a life, if we are not careful to walk in divine revelation. Samson’s tenure was twenty years but he left little to show for his time in office. He frustrated the Philistines though, thwarting their attempts to totally dominate Israel.

I alluded to the issue of soul ties earlier this week when I posted in the article “Sexuality, a blessing or curse.”  The Urban dictionary defines ‘soul ties as a spiritual or emotional connection you have to someone after being intimate with them, usually engaging in sexual intercourse. To the point that when you want to be rid of them from your mind and your life, even when you are far away from them and out of their presence you still feel as if they are a part of you… Causing you to feel un-whole…’. Soul tie is a God idea, when carried out per his instructions it leads to mutually beneficial relationships. It was intended to bring blessing and joy into our lives. Every person is a living soul “and the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul “Genesis 2:7.

Circular knitting on a circular needle

God made Eve to be a companion to her husband, in God’s kingdom two is better than one. In our own relationships I’m sure we are all grateful for our spouses and children etc, I’m lumping here all human relationships .They help to bring meaning, provide comfort and sustain us as we journey through life. We have soul- ties with all these individuals, but like everything else God has made beautiful the interloper comes and destroys or changes things around. Its Satan counterfeit ties that are running amok and trying to destroy all that is beautiful in the world, Satan cannot succeed if we don’t corporate with him. Mankind has to stop seeing each other as the enemy and unite to expose the real enemy.

If you read the Bible you won’t find the term soul tie but instead you’ll come across choices as knit together, one with another, one flesh, and members of one another and so on. Essentially they all mean the same thing soul tie.The Hebrew word for “knitted”: means “to weave.” Other times, the word is translated “to cover, screen, or protect.” Knitting also means companion. As I said previously two are better than one, God in his wisdom instituted the concept of two becoming one. Joining together has certain privileges and benefits a union is a strong bond; the Bible enforces this principle throughout the scriptures. Deuteronomy 32:30 “one have chased a thousand, and two have put ten thousand to flight.

Remember we are all living souls so all our relationships involve some association of the soul. I’m writing on spiritual matters and we are getting to the bit on sexual soul ties but I would be remiss if I don’t shed light on the other soul tie connections. The soul is from God, so it is a conduit or pathway to spiritual things. We know that there is the negative or positive spiritual(or supernatural. When we are living according to God’s divine agenda and obedient to his word it’s more difficult for the enemy to enter. The Christian is not exempt from demonic manipulation unless a person adheres to Godly instruction he is just as open to attack as the ungodly. One’s will, mental, spiritual and emotional capacity is tied into our soul. We are made in the image and likeness of God and were created to interact with our creator and the rest of his subjects.

Examples of Soul connections or ties:

As a group of people

Judges 20:11 “So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city knit together as one man” (having one common purpose).

Romans 12:5 “For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another” ( the body of Christ, one people)

Through friendships

1st Samuel 18:1 “And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.”

Brothers and sisters within the Body –

Colossians.2:2 “That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love.”

A man and his wife

Genesis 4:1 “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived” (One of the most binding ties, its core is spiritual in nature but many enter into this relationship unawares of its significance).

Parent and children ties-

Genesis 37:34 “Then Jacob tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and mourned for his son many days.  All his sons and daughters came to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. “No,” he said, “I will continue to mourn until I join my son in the grave.” So his father wept for him.

(Parents are the first individuals that nurture and love children. Our formative years are spent in the care of these people who love and teach us the basics and foundational requirements for living. Everything else we learn in life is an additional layer. Loss and death involves more than grief, it is the actual severing of a soul tie hence its painful nature. Divorce also presents with the same implications because the souls are so intertwined with each other damage is done to the lives when they break apart).

Bonding is happening at many levels, these are just a few, and many types exist in other social contexts and institutions. Soul ties can be polluted and become toxic; if all was well we’d all be free of problems. There are many examples of destructive soul ties and many Biblical examples proving this issue has been prevalent with mankind for generations. They persist largely because of ignorance, our careless and selfish natures and primarily because of our lose lifestyles. Many people are in bondage today and it’s by prayer and sometimes fasting God can and will intervene to break the ungodly soul ties. This is too wide a topic to get into all at once so I’m focusing on the sexual aspect of the ties.

Caribbean, the Caribbean Sea, more than 7,000 ...

You know in the Caribbean we say “old fire stick easy to catch.” What it means is that previous lovers make up back after some time apart from each other. Sometimes whole families are caught up in the tangled mess as the soul ties are so strong. It literally forces the couple involved to leave their inhibitions behind and their morals to fly out the window. Their sense of right and wrong is severely impacted, and many wonder how they could be so callous. Considering they have children and separate lives, but unbeknownst to onlookers these men and women are tied together or bound in the spiritual realm. It’s an unseen bond but its binding nevertheless. How did this occur? The moment a man enters into a woman’s body he is connected to her on many levels. He has entered into her spirit and she, his because their sexual organs are gateways, to their spirit man. I’m here to debunk the theory today that ‘old fire stick catching easy.’ What’s catching old affairs and bringing them back together is the old soul tie that has not been dealt with and broken off.

Adam and Eve by Peter Paul Rubens

Adam and Eve by Peter Paul Rubens

Some nights ago I went to church; my bishop was speaking on grace. You know I’ve heard many teachings about the grace of God before but I never really received it. My spirit wasn’t ready back then to process this all important and necessary information. You see in a sense mankind betrayed God. Adam and Eve was given everything they needed, life was good in the garden. They messed up by being disobedient, that was not all though, Genesis 3:8-10 tells us “Where are you?” So he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself. Adam and Eve were terrified because they knew exactly what they had done; their eyes had been opened to their sin. They did not repent but instead they hid and that is what brought the wrath of God down on mankind.

You see God grace is always present, we know when we mess up, we know when we do wrong but we hide it. Sweep it under the rug and go on as if nothing has happened. Even in the present state of affairs on the earth we pretend that nothing is wrong. God is saying my grace is sufficient mankind, come back to me and I will heal and forgive your land. We are saying, ‘no let me try this, let me do that, maybe this solution will work this time.’  While the noose is ever tightening about our necks we dilly dally and play with God. I am fascinated by Adam and Eve lives, and the choices they made. I do believe God was really angry with Adam, why did they not ask for forgiveness? I said in a previous piece that Adam lived to be over 900 years old, nowhere do we have mention of him accomplishing anything other than being a dad. Wow..!  My opinion again but I do believe God felt terribly hurt and saddened by their behavior. You and I are no different, we treat God as if he is the creation and we are in control. We try to reverse the roles, we need him but we pretend that we don’t. When mankind rejects God confusion reigns, how did we arrive at the present level of chaos and confusion we see in every nation and community on the earth today? I digress back to grace.

This walk with God has levels, my goodness. I think sometimes many ministers and teachers of the gospel make the erroneous assumption that everyone is at the same level of maturity. Some important elements of the Christian faith have to be broken down to the bare basics so everyone can understand more fully. In the back of my mind I had acknowledged this grace aspect but it wasn’t immediately real to me. God had to prove it to me, my my…! Since last night the Holy Spirit has been dealing with me on this topic. I finally get what this grace is supposed to mean. I have had more than my share of life troubles which have forced me to go looking for solutions in diverse places (not what you thinking). I have prayed every prayer known to man and still I was not seeing some of my burdens lifted. Much despair, much pain, much sorrow later I finally get it now. Living holy, being prayerful, going to church, worshiping, giving of tithes and offering are all necessary prerequisites to being a Christian. After all that is what God admonishes us to do in our walk with him? There is a but though, it’s by Gods grace and mercy alone some things will change in our lives.

Some of us lack a proper understanding of the grace impartation. Your efforts and your work are not qualifiers to grace; God gives the grace not mankind. Grace essentially means to acquire something that you do not deserve; it is also called by another name unmerited favor. God will pardon and have mercy on us if we cry out to him. Sometimes he will interceded and save us but he will always require us to do something in response ourselves. We can blame Adam and Eve all we want, but before we do we must understand some qualities about God. He knew that Adam and Eve would sin and he allowed it. Have you ever thought why he did that? Many times we don’t get that God is a paradox. He requires all of us to seek him for ourselves. There are some things we will never understand about him, get used to that aspect about him folks he is sovereign not your little boy or girl or woman. God is merciful to us every day. He does not need us you know he can get anything in creation to worship and obey him. I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out” Luke 19:40.

Our Mother of Perpetual Help, a 15th Century M...

Our Mother of Perpetual Help, a 15th Century Marian Byzantine Icon

Mercy means that we do not get the punishment that we deserve. God is abundant in compassion, grace mercy and forbearance. God’s greatest act of grace is sending Jesus down to die to save man from his sinful ways. Salvation is by faith, you must believe on Jesus to be saved. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” John 3:36.Salvation is God’s gift to mankind, once received God himself will start the process of renewing you and put you on the pathway to eternal life. It’s all God’s will. Recently, as many of you know, I lost my sister. I prayed for her so much before she passed, and in the end I said God, why? The Bible says “naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” Job 1”21. We don’t always want to accept God’s will, for reasons known only to him he allows something’s we find abhorrent to happen to us.

I’m not trying to use my faith to justify my sisters passing or any aspect of my life. The things I’m being led to take on I don’t necessarily run to them. I’m driven to do this work because it’s being deposited in my spirit. I always want to be truthful with people, when I don’t comply with God’s wishes I always end up in trouble. Disobedience has brought many troubles my way, so I have decided to do his work whether I like it or not I submit. I live what I teach. What I want the reader to take away is this? If you do all that God asks and you become frustrated because you don’t see the results of your effort.
Remember this scripture And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you” 1 Peter 5:10. God is faithful but we must share in the sufferings of Christ “For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children.  And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ) if indeed we suffer with him so we may also be glorified with him” Romans 8:15-22.keep going along the path God has chosen for you. He will deliver you someday or maybe he won’t it’s his will to do so.This is very hard for many to grasp about the God we are being taught about. Life is not easy for no one, but some go through more trials, many times because of spiritual wickedness in high places, but God promises “that no good thing will he with hold from those that walk uprightly” Psalm 84:11.

This is a very serious hour for mankind get to know the God of grace and mercy.

Scriptures on Grace:

Different applications of the grace impartation

2 Corinthians 12:8-9 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

 Powerful Grace:

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Acts 4:33 And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people.

Acts 11:22-24 The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

Acts 14:1-3 Now at Iconium they entered together into the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who bore witness to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

Receiving Grace:

John 1:15-17 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ

When we lose focus God is always so gracious to bring us back into divine alignment that is if we are obedient. He always sends someone with a rhema word to speak into our spirits. I’m grateful to be back on purpose this morning. This season is a time where many shakings are continuing and evil assignments are being hatched. Children of God who pray, tithe, stay in divine alignment and worship the living God have nothing to fear though. God resources are vast; and there is nothing he can’t do “For with God nothing shall be impossible “Luke 1:37.

We are dealing with individuals who are very wicked in their hearts. Jeremiah warns us “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it” Jeremiah 17:9? God alone knows the thoughts of the heart (1 Corinthians 2:11).The Bible is letting us know that the heart of man is desperately wicked; there is no other entity that is so wicked. You can’t tell what a man is thinking or plotting in his heart. When you want to know about a product you go to the manufacturer of that product to get information, whether its in the product pamphlet or by calling the hotline. If God who is mans creator say man’s heart is wicked? Who are you and I to say otherwise.

English: The Earth was corrupt before God and filled with violence, as in Genesis 6:5: “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”; illustration from the 1728 Figures de la Bible; illustrated by Gerard Hoet (1648–1733) and others, and published by P. de Hondt in The Hague; image courtesy Bizzell Bible Collection, University of Oklahoma Libraries (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Let’s look at Genesis 6:6-8 “And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”

God himself has said that he regretted making mankind because of their continual wickedness. Some things we know about God’s character, he values his words above everything else. “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away” Luke 21:33.So when God says his heart is grieved, he is not saying that lightly. The word repent here is interesting, the basic definition of repent is to turn from sin. We know God cannot sin because he is holy. So God is saying something else about repenting, to understand the Bible we have to take words literally and study them.

 Repent:

  • to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one’s life
  • to feel regret or contrition
  • to change one’s mind
  • to feel sorrow, regret, for what we have done

Our loving heavenly father has said he regretted making us because of our wicked ways; he has been calling us to change from the beginning of time. Ever thought what would have happened if Adam repented of his sins? There is a but though, “But Noah found grace in the sight of God.” God always leaves a remnant for himself, he will always raise up a Moses, an Abraham, a Joseph, a Daniel, a Noah and a Deborah because he loves us so much even if we don’t deserve his mercy and kindness.

The carnal man is wicked in his heart because he has not been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We can’t walk righteously without Gods help. Our works won’t do it, the bible declares that even our perceived “righteousness is like filthy rags” Isaiah 64:6. Wickedness has become pervasive throughout every strata of society you can’t escape from it. It’s prevalent in every institution known to man, our schools, homes, social networks, churches, government and hospitals. What do all these places have in common? The common element is man; man is the problem, not the institutions or place. So who must change? It’s you and I, man? God does not have a problem; he is trying to help man solve his problems.

There is one adversary since from the beginning of time that is helping mankind to rebel against God. You see this adversary hates with a passion, he tasted glory but now he will never have it again. We are told he was kicked out from heaven, he rebelled first,(1John 3:8) he is trying to get you to disobey God because he wants you to die in your sin and trespasses. I liken Satan to a man who has contracted aids. That man knows he is about to die, he is so wicked that he goes and spreads the virus around knowingly because he wants to destroy other lives. This is sheer madness, and that’s how Satan operates. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly “John 10:10. You can take Jesus at his word; I’m living proof of that. My life has been characterized by a series of crisis that has no basis in reality. Some of the issues I have faced have been of the mysterious kind; one can surmise then that they are of a spiritual nature.

One cannot discern wickedness by looking into someone’s face or eyes. It is much more subtle that that, it is hidden inside the heart. God knows the creatures he made; he alone can look into their hearts and convict them of their sins. What God does when he sends the prophet or his ministers is to remind man of his word and to repent. When a person’s cup of iniquity runs over God will pronounce judgment on such a person.

Do you know how many burial grounds are littered with people who have been destroyed by others? These people think they have gotten away with their evil and secret deeds. Aha, they should think again, there is coming a day when that book is going to be open and every man will be judged, oh yes it is coming .Not even Satan himself can stop it from happening. You see the child of God should never fear Satan, God has his ways of bringing about our deliverance, as long as we obey him. There are divisions of wickedness, I have experienced some of them myself but by the mercy and grace of God I’m here to give God unending praise.

Purpose: The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
Destiny:the events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future. The hidden power believed to control what will happen in the future; fate.

It’s possible to know God and still fail in life. Sin and disobedience wreaks havoc on a man’s ultimate purpose. Our destiny requires some decision-making on our part, we must choose some things. Biblical examples include, Sampson, King David, Joseph, Daniel and Adam among many others. When we experience failure, how we move forward is determined to some extent by our choices .Sometimes we have to motivate ourselves, to keep on going. All of the above examples met with failure at some point in their lives, it’s their attitude that determined the final outcome. If you are not sure who you are any prevailing will blow you in any direction. Most of you are young and everything looks good now; generally the young never prepare for their future and I’m not just speaking financially. Some of the relationships you refuse to abort; some of those friendships you are involved in currently will ultimately destroy you. Many hear of relationships and they think family or loved ones. Hey what about business, church, groups, clubs, social media and the list is exhaustive.

Many people never take the time to reason or evaluate situations for themselves. I want to show you an example with the first couple. Before I do though I want to caution some of you, God has warned you before but you have not listened. Judas was appointed to be the betrayer, of Jesus “while I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled” John 17:12 There are some things in the spirit that we will never understand. Everything God made has ears; even the mountains read Matthew 21: 21. Jesus spoke to the fig tree and it dried up, why? The fig tree heard him speak the command. The morning has ears; the universe is in constant communication with its creator. There are really no secrets, when you think about the things of the spirit. To some of you this might sound way off, but how would you know, you’ve never invested time with God. Some of you might say a person doesn’t have an official title don’t worry, its religion speaking. Did most of the people in the Bible have a title? When God chooses it’s obvious. God has his ways of doing things; he uses things that might seem foolish to you.

Someone might look insignificant to you but you don’t know why God has chosen them to do his work. I read a true story recently this associate pastor saw the general pastor stealing funds from his church, and one day he tried the same thing. The Holy Spirit convicted him immediately .The associate Pastor response “was well so and so was doing it”. The Holy Spirit said to him,” that man has already gotten his reward on earth.” “You have a different calling” so the man repented of his sins. Even in the body of Christ there are some individuals who are there for a specific reason, they are the ones God will use like Judas to bring about his ultimate purpose. Why these individuals behave in such a fashion if Jesus came to redeem the whole of mankind? The problem originates in people’s hearts, who knows hearts only the Lord does? Some pastors are not on their way to heaven, it’s the truth and we know it. If you study the good book you’ll find this out for yourself. And Jesus said “then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” Matthew 7:23. We serve the same God oh I take my pursuit of God seriously.

Adam did not know who he was; his major mistake was that he suffered from an identity crisis. He couldn’t teach Eve what he didn’t understand. God had given him everything he ever needed. When you have to scrape and fight and claw your way to get something from God you appreciate it when he finally gives it to you or you are a fool. Like Jacob his life had been characterized by struggle it came to a head when he wrestled with the angel. “He struggled with the angel and finally overcame him; he wept and begged for favor” Hosea 12:3-4.Adam loved his wife to distraction, like many men love and lust can render them unstable and unbalanced. Do you know that Adam failed in his life’s purpose; the real shame is that he lived to be 930 years. “And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died” Genesis 5:5.

The Bible never told us that Adam accomplished anything other than becoming a father after his exit from Eden. Do we get how much 930 years is, contemporary man has never lived to see these ages. God pronounced death on Adam and his wife,” But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” Genesis 2:17.From the day they disobeyed they were the walking dead. Imagine 930 years on the earth and he has accomplished nothing. You guys want to play with God, go ahead.

Death doesn’t always mean actual dying, God has many ways of killing a man yet he lives. Can you imagine how frustrated and unfulfilled Adam must have felt at the end of his life? Recent tragedies of individuals who have attained lofty heights are still on the periphery of our minds. Do you know who else played with God? Original bad boy, he has been sentenced to roam for ever until that day he burns in hell fire. Need I say more, God is a being, he has a presence, he is the creator of heaven and earth and all that dwells within them, and he is the king of all spirits. You can’t outsmart him; I dare you to try, if Lucifer didn’t win, what are your chances? Peace and blessings!
