As I get older and hopefully wiser, I realize life is itself mysterious. Many of us are so caught up in the daily grind. We never stop to appreciate or focus on the beauty of the simple but complex processes that facilitate our life. Some of us are not sure if we should try to understand theses processes. The world is experiencing a new consciousness; we are being awakened in gentle and not so gentle ways. The ways in which we have approached living and life is at a crossroads. There is no backwards momentum; the people who go along with the change will fare better than those who resist. For sure we cannot go backwards; change has come and must come.  It’s not just humans that are experiencing this change, it’s the whole universe. People are perplexed; we just can’t seem to understand. It seems the whole world has gone mad. Violence, social protests, the ritualistic sacrifice of children on the African continent, disruptive weather patterns (Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis storms) not to mention the state of the economy are just some in a long exhaustive list. Something is definitely wrong, we need to change, that is the message all these maladies are screaming at us. We cannot continue along the paths of yesteryear. Capitalism hasn’t worked for everyone as evidenced by the current struggle between the wealthy and underprivileged. The pages of history will not be kind to this greedy and wasteful generation. It’s no sense in fighting the inevitable; our behaviors must change and change rapidly. The elements that sustain life, by that I mean our natural environment are fighting us too. Most of us are not aware that a subtle dance is going on all around us; we are part of the bigger macrocosm. By this I mean there is the visible and unseen world around us. In nature there is a subtle balance always, when this balance is disturbed things go awry. I do believe we have placed priority on material things, the getting of things to satisfy us. We have then minimized our eroded our spiritual function in relation to the rest of this macrocosm. We are at the point now where we need to urgently arrest this imbalance if we are to see change. The pursuit of material wealth has brought bondage to mankind and we have missed the true essence of life.

So I want to focus my attention on some of life mysteries, namely the earth, wind, water, blood, trees and fire. You see we are connected to these elements in intrinsic ways, sometimes in our ignorance we just assume that they will be there when we need them. I do hope this article inspires you to appreciate the world around you and to bring healing and awareness into your life. While my teachers are primarily the Holy Spirit and the Bible, I’ll share with you some of my other reading materials. Mike Murdock says ‘There are two ways to get wisdom: mistake and mentors and the easiest way to get wisdom is to buy it” (7 Laws you must honor to have Uncommon Success).Books are an invaluable tool in the journey of life. I came across a wonderful book ‘The secret Life of Water’.

“Water has a memory and carries within it our thoughts and prayers. As you yourself are water, no matter where you are, your prayers will be carried to the rest of the world” by Masaru Emoto (The Secret Life of Water). Science throughout the ages has long since recognized that water is essential to life. In fact humans can survive longer without food than water. About seventy percent of the human body is made up of water. Some bodily processes require water, for example water regulates body temperature and the unborn baby is suspended in amniotic fluid, which is sometimes referred to as the ‘water bag’. Some seventy percent of the world’s surface is covered by water. Life as we know it would cease to exist in the absence of water. Water is inside of us, and around us, it dominates every aspect of our lives. The growing of our crops, our daily hygiene rituals, food preparation etc requires the constant use of water. Water is life; it is part of the mystery of life. So in essence what is water?

Water has some characteristics of a chemical substance; science has identified the chemical formula as H2O. Its molecule contains one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms connected by covalent bonds. Water is a liquid at ambient temperature (normal or room temperature is an apt descriptor here), but it often co-exists on Earth in a solid state as ice and in the gaseous state as water vapor or steam. Water also exists in a liquid crystal state near hydrophilic (water) surfaces. All life forms on earth require water to live; water’s importance cannot be quantified. We know water is found in the ocean, groundwater, in glaciers, the ice caps of Antarctica and Greenland in the air as vapor and clouds. Only 2.5% percent of Earths water is fresh water and some of it is ice and groundwater. Less than 0.3% of all freshwater is in rivers, lakes, and the atmosphere, and an even smaller amount of the Earth’s freshwater (0.003%) is contained within biological bodies and manufactured products.

Water rarely remains constant; it is a continual force of nature. Water cycles through, transpiration, evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and eventually all run offs make it to the sea. The sea is the largest reservoir of water on the earth. Water becomes a force of malevolent proportions during storms, hurricanes, floods and other natural phenomenon, leaving disaster and destruction in its wake. During flash floods water lying so placidly will suddenly erupt into a seething, moving mass bent on conquering all in its path. All the elements I listed above are co-dependent on water for their survival, the unifying bond is mankind. So what I’m getting at is that life cannot go on independent of these elements, they also have the capability of nurturing life but also bringing cessation (death to life). What it is about these elements?

All my articles are leading somewhere, asking questions about our journey, to bring us in to a state of connecting back to our creator. So having said all of this, water is not just water, there is much more to this force of nature than meets the eye. In the next section I want to delve into what the Bible says about water. Do you know that water is above the earth and also beneath the earth? Heat as I wrote before is above and underneath man is always in the middle. He is always surrounded and protected if he so chooses, I’m going somewhere. Water is a living entity, every one of these elements are living entities, they talk to each other. You say hmm….,well its in the spiritual realm, life has mysteries.
